Where my party people at?

If you're reading this, it means you're either lost somewhere in one of the darkest corners of the internet--in which case all you have to do is hit that little back arrow to return to the light--or you're related to me and feel obligated to read this because, well, because I asked you to. Whichever category you find yourself in, welcome!

My name is Jacqueline Hope and I write young adult fiction novels. I mean, I'm other things, too. I'm a daughter, a sister, a college student currently trying to survive F.I.N.A.L.S. (F*ck, I Never Actually Learned This Sh*t) as well as a french onion soup connoisseur, Grey's Anatomy addict, and avid shower performer (mostly of the show tune genre.) Oh! And I love anything with a mustache on it. Anything at all!

As far as my life as a writer goes, I'm currently working on my first novel. It doesn't have a title or anything but I'm pretty proud of it...all 40 pages of it! I know 40 pages doesn't sound like much, especially in the context of a novel that should end up being in the 200+ page ballpark, but those 40 pages are damn good and hopefully you'll be able to see all of them (and more!) on the shelves of your local Barnes&Noble in the near future...that's the dream, anyway.

As I get better at this whole blogging thing I'll try to make these posts a little more interesting, or at least worth reading from time to time. I PROMISE! For now, stick with me, alright? Leave a comment and let me know what you want me to talk about.

Thanks for reading and be sure to check back soon with updates!
Love, JH

  1. I like that you're confident about calling yourself a YA novelist and you're just working on your first one. I am the type that I am afraid to call myself such if I haven't accomplished such a thing yet. So good for you and your confidence. And 40 pages may seem like a long way from the 200 page range, but 40 pages is a lot more than some aspiring writers may be, so it is good that you have a good outlook on it.

  2. It's lovely to meet you on Twitter @CinemaProfound, Jacqueline. I like your plucky POV, so I'm returning the nod.
